M65 & M66 Leo Spiral Galaxies

Another beautiful pair of galaxies in Leo...

I did not have enough room in the FOV to fit NGC3628 the 3rd galaxy in this Leo Triplet.

I captured this shot on 01-14-2010 from my observatory in Yellow Springs, at JBSPO with my homemade 16" diameter scope & QHY8 a cooled one shot color CCD camera for a 45 minute exposure.

These Spiral Galaxies are easy targets in small telescopes.

Lots of details are visible in this image,

I think I could get even more fine details if seeing would have co-operated that night.

Definitely was worth the imaging & processing time!

Best Regards,
John Chumack
