Z CrB is a fairly well behaved Mira-type variable presently well placed for northern observers. When I first started observing Z CrB it was just past minimum and is now about halfway to its next maximum. Presently at about magnitude 12.9 it should brighten to just around 9th magnitude making it by far the brightest star in the field.
